Product Description

 

Fiberglass steel wire cloth is an industrial fabric made by interweaving or compounding fiberglass yarn with metal wire. It combines the corrosion resistance, insulation, high strength of glass fiber with the rigidity, impact resistance, and conductivity of metal wire (usually steel wire), playing an important role in multiple industrial fields. This material may seem ordinary, but its manufacturing process and applications contain a clever combination of materials science.


Glass fiber is usually made of alkali free or medium alkali glass fiber yarn. Glass fiber is an extremely fine fiber rapidly drawn from molten glass, with a diameter typically measured in micrometers.


The composition of metal wire is usually made of annealed low-carbon steel wire, stainless steel wire, or other alloy wire. The introduction of metal wire is mainly to compensate for some limitations of pure glass fiber fabrics

 

 

 

Features

 

High strength and dimensional stability: The introduction of steel wire significantly enhances the overall tensile strength and tear resistance of the fabric. Even under stress, it is not prone to significant deformation or damage and can maintain shape stability for a long time.

 

Excellent temperature resistance: Glass fiber itself is non flammable, heat-resistant, and has a high softening point. This enables the composite fabric to be used for a long time at working temperatures of several hundred degrees or even higher, without melting or losing strength, and only the carbonization of the organic coating may occur.

 

Good chemical corrosion resistance: Glass fiber has good resistance to most acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents, and is not easily corroded. If stainless steel wire is used, its corrosion resistance will be more satisfactory to users.

 

Insulation and wave transmission: Glass fiber is an excellent electrical insulator and also has good electromagnetic wave transmission performance. This makes the material suitable for specific occasions that require electromagnetic shielding or wave transmission, while ensuring electrical safety.

 

Flexibility and processability: Despite its high strength, thanks to its fabric structure, it still has a certain degree of flexibility and can cut, sew, and wrap complex shaped objects, making construction relatively convenient.
