Nonstick PTFE Fiberglass Fabric Heat Resistant PTFE Coated Fiberglass Fabric
*Glass composition: The most common is E-glass, which is alkali free glass with good electrical properties and the widest range of applications. There is also C-glass, which has better chemical corrosion resistance; And S-glass or high-strength glass, with higher strength, commonly used in high-end fields such as aerospace.
*Yarn thickness and weaving method: Yarn thickness is usually represented by "tex" or "count", which directly affects the thickness and weight of the fabric. The weaving method affects the flatness, softness, and directional mechanical properties of the fabric.
*Weight and thickness: The weight (in grams) and thickness per square meter are intuitive physical parameters closely related to their intended use. For example, exterior wall insulation mesh fabric is usually thinner and lighter, while the fabric used to make fiberglass panels is much thicker.
*Surface treatment status: Whether it has been treated with a coupling agent and the type of treatment agent, all of which are related to its bonding effect when compounded with resin.
When choosing, the key is to determine the required specifications and models of fiberglass cloth based on specific application scenarios and technical requirements.
*High strength and high modulus: This is one of the most significant characteristics of fiberglass cloth. Although it originates from brittle glass, once pulled into extremely fine fibers, its strength will be greatly enhanced. After weaving into fabric, it exhibits excellent tensile strength, which means it is not easily pulled apart. Its modulus is very high, which means it is not easily deformed under stress and has good dimensional stability.
*Heat resistance and flame retardancy: Glass fiber cloth itself is an inorganic non-metallic material with high heat resistance. It does not burn and can maintain its structural integrity in high temperature environments, with a melting point typically reaching several hundred degrees Celsius or higher. This makes it an indispensable material in the fields of high-temperature insulation and fire prevention.
*Corrosion resistance: Glass fiber cloth has good resistance to most chemicals except hydrofluoric acid and concentrated alkaline solution, and is not easily corroded. This makes it highly applicable in chemical environments, wastewater treatment, and other settings.
*Electrical insulation: Glass fiber is an excellent electrical insulator and does not conduct electricity. The fabric woven from it also has good electrical insulation properties and is widely used in the electronic and electrical industry for circuit boards, insulation sleeves, etc.
*Dimensional stability and resistance to creep: Under normal temperature and usage conditions, glass fiber cloth hardly absorbs moisture and has a low coefficient of thermal expansion, so its shape and size are minimally affected by changes in environmental temperature and humidity. It also has strong resistance to slow deformation (i.e. creep) under long-term loads.
