High Temperature Resistant PTFE Coated Alkali Free Fiberglass Woven Fabric
Fiberglass cloth is a cloth like material woven from fiberglass as raw material. So, how did fiberglass come about? It is usually made by melting natural minerals such as quartz sand, limestone, and dolomite into liquid form at high temperatures, and then rapidly drawing them through extremely fine platinum alloy plates. Its single filament diameter is usually only a few micrometers to twenty micrometers, much thinner than our hair. By twisting and twisting these extremely fine glass fiber yarns, they can be made into glass fiber yarns. Finally, through traditional weaving techniques, just like weaving cotton cloth, the warp and weft are interwoven to form glass fiber cloth.
Fiberglass cloth itself is an inorganic non-metallic material with high heat resistance. It does not burn and can maintain its structural integrity in high temperature environments, with a melting point typically reaching several hundred degrees Celsius or higher. This makes it an indispensable material in the fields of high-temperature insulation and fire prevention.
High strength and high modulus: Glass fiber provides excellent tensile, bending, and impact strength, is lightweight but has strong load-bearing capacity, and has a much higher specific strength than ordinary metals.
Excellent dimensional stability: small coefficient of thermal expansion, not easily deformed under heat, low shrinkage rate (usually less than 2%), able to maintain structural accuracy.
Good electrical insulation: Both resin and fiberglass are excellent insulators with stable dielectric properties, widely used in PCB substrates and electrical insulation components.
Chemical corrosion resistance and weather resistance: It has strong resistance to acid, alkali, salt, and humid environments, does not absorb moisture, does not rust, and some formulations have UV aging resistance.
Flame retardant and heat-resistant: Most systems (such as epoxy and phenolic) have self extinguishing properties (UL94 V-0 level), and the heat-resistant level can reach F level (155 ℃) or even higher, depending on the resin type.
