Product Description

The Lithium Battery Fireproof Bag is a fire containment bag designed for spare lithium batteries and portable electronic devices (PED) carrying them.

The unique configuration of the Lithium safety bag consists of high temperature insulation & fire resisting materials that are able to withstand the explosive release of energy and cell combustion, as a result of a lithium ion thermal runaway.

All the materials that are used are non-combustible and can withstand continuous temperatures up to 1100 C (2012 °F) The temperature of a Lithium battery fire can easily reaches 600 – 1000 °C (1112 – 1832 °F) In addition to the high temperature resistance, the thermal conductivity of the insulation material is extremely low, allowing the use of minimal material thickness.

In particular at high temperatures, the material far exceeds the insulation effect of alternative insulation materials. The low rising of the thermal conductivity with temperature increase and minimal shrinkage at maximum temperature is also advantageous for the Lithium Battery Fireproof Bag. The material is shock resistant; it tolerates fast heating and cooling cycles for a long period of time, which is ideal in the event of a thermal runaway.

Features

Extreme high temperature resistance: inorganic materials such as aerogel, rock wool or ceramic fiber are usually used, which can withstand 1000 ℃~1100 ℃ without melting and burning, and maintain structural stability.

High efficiency heat insulation: the thermal conductivity is extremely low (for example, the aerogel felt is as low as 0.013 – 0.025 W/m · K), which can quickly cut off the heat transfer to the adjacent core, and delay or prevent the chain type heat spread.

Toxic gas adsorption: Some composite fireproof bags have physical adsorption ability and can absorb harmful gases such as hydrogen fluoride and organic volatile compounds released by lithium batteries due to thermal runaway, reducing environmental pollution.

Buffer and insulation: It has certain elastic compression performance and can absorb the expansion force generated by the cycling of the battery cell; Simultaneously possessing high insulation strength to prevent short circuits caused by high-temperature conductive substances

Widely used for filling explosion-proof boxes in laboratories, insulation between power battery cells, fire isolation of energy storage cabinets, and lining of fire-resistant packaging for aviation transportation.

Space adaptation: Modern fire-resistant materials tend to be lightweight (thickness can be ≤ 2mm) to accommodate compact battery pack designs, but it is necessary to balance thermal insulation performance and mechanical strength. ‌‌
